Answer: The covenants state that noxious or offensive activities that are an annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood are a violation of covenants. As examples: (1) Leaving junk lying around, putting up children’s swings and play areas in the front or side yard visible from the street are a violation of covenants but not city code. (2) What might be considered “excessive junk, trash, disrepair, messy yards such as tall weeds, inoperable vehicles are a violation of covenants and city code (22-952, 7.20.020) Review this code and then call the City of Federal Way Citizen Action Request Line at 253.835.2617. Your privacy is assured. (3) Annoyances between neighbors not covered by covenants are private problems and not subject to resolution by the MHACC.
